Easy Low Cost Crockpot Dinners

By

Crock Pot Spaghetti

2 tablespoons oil (I prefer olive oil)

1 large onion chopped

1 large green pepper chopped or sliced

3 teaspoons minced garlic (more or less to taste)

2.5 lbs ground beef (lean will create less grease on top)

1-2 stalks celery diced

1 large (28 oz) can tomato sauce

1 large can diced tomatoes, do not drain

2 3/4 cups water

3 tablespoons Italian seasoning

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons black or 1 teaspoon red pepper

16 oz pasta

1. Heat the oil in large pan until hot. Medium to medium high heat. Place onions, green peppers, celery and garlic in pan. cook until tender. Carefully add to Crock Pot.

2. Now brown the ground beef and drain fat. ( You may still have some rise to the top while cooking). Add ground beef and all other ingredients to Crock Pot. Stir well.

3. Cook 7 hours on low, or 4.5 hours on high. Cook pasta per directions. Serve over cooked pasta. Delicious!!! You may add mushrooms or other veggies as well, but I prefer it this way.

Crock Pot Chicken (My Favorite!!)

This dish is amazingly delicious, and so easy to prepare. Your whole family will love it. Serve it over rice (I usually do), or pasta. It's a meal all by itself, or add a quick and easy side if you'd prefer.

4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

1 Family size can Cream of Chicken Soup. (You may substitue 2 small cans any variety cream soups for different flavors. Cream of Celery adds a nice flavor.)

1/2 can (or 1 small can) water.

Mix soups well with water in crock pot. Place rinsed chicken pieces in crock pot, you may cut these up or leave whole.

Cook on high for 1 hour. Set on low and let simmer 3-4 hours. Stir once or twice during cooking.

Viola! Mouth watering good!

Great recipies. I am definately a chicken girl. I like the fact the cook time is relatively short - I can begin it, during my mental prep time before heading to class and by the time I return home it is ready to go. I have not owned a crock pot in years, and keep putting off buying one. My mother believed in crock pot meals. Oh yea welcome to Hubpages

Tofu or maybe boca burgers could probably be substituted for the meat in the spaghetti. Might be good?!

After I read this, I picked up a can of cream of chicken to try this with the chicken I have in the freezer! Sounds like it will be good.
